I sharply condemned the parents who used them. My first two babies never got out of their beds. The third child is a different story. For over two weeks we tried to get him to stay in his crib as soon as he could get out. All told, it took him 90 minutes to fall asleep (or just caused him to give up) and often 2+ hours of sleep. He's only 24 months old so still too small for a big bed in my opinion and not safe enough to roam his room at 3am. He was so sleep deprived that he kept falling, injuring himself and bruising. It was terrible. We bought the tent as soon as we realized that sleep deprivation was affecting him greatly. At first he told me he didn't like his tent, but on the second dream he lay down and left immediately. He doesn't mind, I think it gives him security. Two weeks of use and sleep time is back to normal. This thing really helped us at that stage, helped us get through until he's a little bit grown up and understands the importance of staying in bed.
