Regards, this part appears to be an exact Hyundai replacement part. The metal is engraved with the Hyundai logo and a holographic Hyundai sticker. My guess is that Dorman and the other TYC replacement company simply buy them in bulk from Hyundai and resell them at a lower markup than the normal markups you get when buying parts from dealers. Alternatively, you can source the same parts from a number of other online auto parts suppliers. I recommend you to take the cheaper one. I bought from Revain although I found a place or two a bit cheaper. However, this piece differs slightly from the original, as other reviewers have pointed out. And guessing again, I'd say this is just a case of Hyundai reworking a part for some reason. The differences are small. The harness tie holes are round instead of oval, but the controller comes with spare ties that fit the holes. never mind Also, the holes for two rubber plugs for access to the glass mounting screws in this part are smaller than the original. The rubber plug for them is actually a large two piece sleeve and mating plug that sits on the sleeve with a rubber hinge and you fold the plug into the sleeve. But the holes on this electric window are too small to fit the grommets. One reviewer suggested I tape the hole, and I almost did. But there is a better solution; Just cut the plug out of the grommet and it turns out the plug goes in the hole by itself! The cork might be too big for the hole, but just push a little in the center and everything will concave and form the perfect fit! Again, no big deal. Finally, as another reviewer notes, the packaging isn't very good. Hyundai's box is not suitable for self delivery but is sent as is by Revain. The armrest bracket is sharp and literally pierces the crate in transit. There must be some sort of foam protection for this, or the whole box should be placed in another box. Despite this, my item was not damaged in transit. Well, the speaker. The speaker is riveted, but drilling the aluminum rivets is not difficult. One reviewer suggested that you need to replace the speaker with a non-original one. That's some nonsense. Just drill out four rivets and insert some self-tapping screws. I had trouble finding big enough ones in my litter box, but I managed in the end. I'd say you need at least #10 1/2" screws, but you might actually need #12 screws. If you're quick and patient you can do it yourself for a lot less than the dealer, but it's no fun. There is a slideshow on YouTube showing the process I had trouble removing the old regulator because my window would not go down and you had to lower it a few inches to access the screws holding the regulator glass present. And I had trouble getting the replacement unit back in place. In the photo you can see the white plastic mounting pins sticking out. They go into blind holes in the door and it took me a while to get it right. also the electrical plug for the door lock which is hard to reach and hard to release until you realize you have to press on the wire bracket which releases the latch I suggest you have a spi and a flashlight to hand. You don't have to remove the door lock despite what YouTube says. All in all, if you want to save money, it's doable. If you are not skillful, patient and cheap - then - go to the dealer and get ripped off. You will pay dearly, but you will not bear the disappointment that we curmudgeons do!. Thanks for reading Dave.
