I have very small wrists. I ordered a small band and while disappointed with the extra length I wasn't surprised. That happens to me often. I solved the problem by cutting off the excess. Unfortunately, I had to return the Fitbit because it didn't track my heart accurately, it was too wide for my wrist, and because I cut the strap it was impossible to return it. When I put the tape that I cut off back in the original packaging, I noticed two stickers, one that said small and one that said large. Had I noticed this on arrival I would have sent it back before cutting off the excess length. At the same time, the strap material was soft and breathable.
