This is a universal version of the original Motorcraft ignition coil that I had to fit in my 21 year old Ford Focus but I have to agree with most other reviewers it's "no - Brand name seems to work well Lifespan unknown at this time, the original Motorcraft lasted 21 years I'm cautiously rating this five stars! PS I had no problems or check engine light when I installed a 2001 Ford in my Focus. Seems the same to be well made like the original time will tell if the ignition coil will last before the car burns out!
