I'm a bookbinder so I thought a hole punch would be the perfect tool for my toolbox. It was one of the most popular options and also a seemingly cheap option so I figured it would be fine, especially for my first experience with it. So far it's been pretty bad. I can't tell if the high resistance is normal or not, but I can say for sure that it shouldn't stick when I press it halfway down until I twist it by hand. Right after a day of use, I noticed a bruise on my palm from the force I was pinching it with. I can also say that there is friction inside the device because it literally leaves metal shavings on my desk and projects. There is also the problem that a small piece fell off when I took it out of the box. Of course this seems to be purely cosmetic and I can just stick it back on if needed, but in hindsight it's quite indicative of the overall quality of the tool. This may only be the one I received and is not indicative of the usual quality of these punches. But that's my general experience.
