I can't confirm how well it works with USB C 3.1, but I've used it on two different computers (USB 3.0 Type A) and was only able to do 330MB/s when the SSD could reach 540MB/s when connected directly to the board. To make matters worse, the write speed has dropped from 340 MB/s to 133 MB/s. USB 3.0 delivers 625 Mbps both ways (and 3.1 can do twice as much). My guess is that the USB controller on the board needs more power than the port to run at full speed. Maybe a Type-C port on the computer would work better, but I don't have one. Bought to also be compatible with my Pixel XL (which it works great with by the way).
