This is a really great scratching post! Especially for the price! However, they do not use cat scratching posts on it. but my two cats love it and like to sleep in it! And play on it! I'll get leather patches to wrap around the spiky areas (my cats love to scratch the skin) but other than that it's great! The instructions are vague: I followed the pictures for the most part, but more detailed instructions could have been used. It also tips over at times (although this may be due to my cats pouncing on it). Note that some of the weights below cannot be fixed! Look, scratching posts are ridiculously expensive. Head to Petco and you'll be lucky if you hit the $50 floor. This is a good scratching post and ideal for two cats. They can place and attach toys around it for them to play with and craft the boxes so they can figure out how to get there too. You can do a lot with this tree.
