I bought this mic for my son to use with his dad's desk. My son records himself for some of his e-learning tasks and the sound quality is wonderful and definitely on par with the mics on my gaming headsets and the built-in mics on our laptops at my house. For what we use it for, this is more than enough. My son's father isn't techy at all either, but he was able to get it working easily: just plug and play. While not used for gaming, I make a lot of D&D-style games via Discord and wouldn't hesitate to use this mic for that purpose if it matters.
