This did work to stretch my boots, but when I attempted to remove it from the second boot, it got stuck and would not turn. I tried going in the opposite direction, then back to closing the stretcher, and it eventually ended up completely stuck. In attempting to budge it one way or the other, the handle broke at the joint, leaving me with an open stretcher stuck in my boot.Thankfully, my boot has a zipper down the back, which allowed me easy access to the screws that hold it together. I was able to remove the screws, causing the stretcher to come apart in my boot so I could remove it.The metal piece that moves up and down the bolt inside had jumped is threads on one side and was completely immovable. Thank goodness for the screws!The stretcher needs better metal hardware, I think, to be a high quality product. Very disappointed at the performance and durability, but I do like the design and it was effective before it broke.
