Ordered to replace a similar kitchen gadget that recently broke. I loved the one that broke, I had it for many years; This was the one where you put what you wanted to cut in and pushed it through the blades by squeezing the handles (premium leverage). I think this one is even better and less likely to break as it is a class 2 lever, the hinge/pivot is on one end, the cut is in the middle and the compressive force is on the other end; This puts less pressure on the pivot/hinge/spring, making it less likely to break. The blade is also serrated which is very handy, the slices are the perfect size (I find the pre-sliced mushrooms too thick) and the cutting surface is wider than my old one which accommodates larger mushrooms, strawberries, eggs etc. Although it's bigger than my old one, it fits better in my dish drawer because it can be locked in the closed position. So far very satisfied.
