I got it for my RES. She really needs a warm place to sunbathe. I have it about 13-14 inches from where it should be and the temp is pretty cold. There is heat, but no heat. I would have thought that at 150 watts that would actually generate heat. Also, I just replaced the first one I bought. The first didn't even last close to 10,000 hours. More like 2500 hours. So if you need warmth at a great price, this product is for you. Full disclosure, I bought a second one because I don't think there's anything really better. At least for ceramic heaters. I won't use any other kind
