Easy assembly but unfortunately very thin and light. The main supporting structure consists of 1/2"x1" boards. While the finish looks nice, I did notice wood chips where the planks split during fabrication and coating. I wouldn't trust any "shelf" weighing more than 15 pounds. The shelf cannot hold the heels because the heels fall through the bamboo slits onto the shoes underneath. In my honest opinion, this shoe rack was designed with essentials in mind. It can hold 20 shoes, keys or a small bowl on it and looks decent. Don't expect him to do anything else. Hold over 25 pounds total or stay upright without being tied to a wall.
