Review update: The IP power button didn't detect an internet connection so it started resetting my devices today. However, this was strange because the internet was working fine, but the device itself did not receive a ping response from the selected websites. I press the middle button of the UIS to set it to stop the auto-reset function and show the device's network configuration. I noticed that the DNS servers used were OpenDNS servers, although it shouldn't matter if those servers weren't disabled, I set the DNS servers to Google servers: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 immediately showed that Device indicates that the internet connection and ping attempts are responding well again. Hence a star was deducted. because instead of fixing the connection, this device broke the connection. Hope this is a rare problem. ____________ So I was on vacation for two weeks and my smart home (cameras, switches, doorbell, outlet, whatever) was unavailable because just five days after I left the internet, the internet went down and didn't automatically reconnect . that is, until I go back and reboot the router. What brings us here today? It took me about 10 minutes to set up the outlet, plug it in, connect a network cable to my router, connect my devices to ports one and two, download the Windows utility, and tweak the settings to my liking. (Most people probably won't need to change the default settings). I downloaded the mobile app and connected my cloud account to manage it from the app. However, I found that it's not really necessary because they have a Skype bot! This allows you to "talk” directly to your Switch via Skype. Check status, enable/disable or restart port. This is a great feature. Yes, it has a clunky user interface, but it's good enough for what it does and you don't have to bother with it once it's set up. When I unplug the ethernet cable it waits as configured and pings some websites and then restarts the sockets just as configured. Overall the product seems great, I will send another update after it actually works in the future.
