Review on CPU cooler for PCcooler GI-X6 V2, silver/black/red by Stanisaw Nader ᠌

I'm completely satisfied with the product, it works.

I assembled two almost identical computers on the Ryzen 5 3500X, the cases are also almost identical. In one system I installed the PCCooler GI-X4R cooler, in the other PCCooler GI-X6B V2. The GI-X4R model did not cause any complaints - it is installed on a regular mount (yes, it's a little tight to pull the latch, but not critical). The GI-X6B V2 model requires the removal of the standard upper mounting brackets on the mother for installation, but the backplate remains standard. The cooler is screwed on without problems, everything is easy and simple. Further, when unpacking, I saw that the heat pipes passing through the radiator on the base do not completely occupy the grooves in the base. (That is, slots are chosen in the heat sink - to accommodate the tubes, the tubes are placed in the slots and "flattened" to form a "flat" surface of the heat sink and fit snugly against the processor cover when installed.) Well, in principle, the situation is understandable - the tubes directly adjoin the processor cover and the heat transfer should be much more efficient than in the case of placing the tubes "inside the radiator". However, the moment that in my case the surface was not quite flat and smooth - saddened me. Yes, I admit that I have a copy of this, but most likely everyone will have it. Just in case, I smeared the radiator with thermal paste, so that the thermal paste filled the gaps between the heat pipes. Okay, since there were 2 computers at hand, I decided to compare. tested with AIDA64. I am attaching photos. In a nutshell, the temperature difference was 2 degrees in favor of the GI-X6B V2. This is despite the fact that in the case with the GI-X4R there was one blowing fan, and in the case with the GI-X6B V2 there was not a single fan. But since the testing did not last long, I think the influence of this fan can be neglected. Thermal paste GD900. In general, both fans were very quiet and at the same time quite efficient. Bought at a price of 1200 and 1500, respectively (now prices are much higher).

Pros
  • Very quiet. Reliable fastening of AM4 socket. Cools well too. The memory and SSD connector on the MSI MAG B550M MORTAR mother did not block, everything is easily accessible.
Cons
  • The base of the radiator is not monolithic, there are empty gaps next to the heat pipes (but maybe I got a defect - you need to carefully inspect this nuance when buying) High enough, when buying, you need to carefully calculate everything so as not to get into a mess.
