Used to install $37 junk that started to rust after 2 days. Should have known better based on the bad reviews. Also, steps 3/4/4; wide, which aggravated the degree of complexity of its use. The functionality of this Weston is just great. The steps are still narrow. Getting up is easy. Go down, don't click. I wish there was a way to add railings so I keep long oak pegs in the bed for further support. But that's a plus. The downside is that the powder coated steel fixings started to rust after 3 months of installation. I brushed it, sanded it down to bare metal and applied 4 thick coats of Rustoleum where I could (front and back). But he can't cover in between, which worries me a lot. Given the speed at which rust first appears and spreads, it's only a matter of time before they stop working. My opinion - 3-4 years. It makes no sense to me to leave it installed. So unfortunately I deleted it. Instead, I've chosen to just throw a simple kitchen-style stepladder to the back when I know I'm going to climb onto the bed.
