Excellent for removing hardened food from counters etc Of course I first dampen the sponge and then lightly wipe the affected surface. One of my cats has chronic sinus disease. We treated her with antibiotics and now use herbs in her wet food. But she sneezes anyway, and sometimes we see hardened phlegm on the floor or lower wall. (TMI, right?) Anyway, these sponges are great for cleaning those areas. I don't rub too hard to avoid scratching or removing paint from the surface. I just gently go over the stain until it's clean. I also use it to clean sinks and bathtubs. When not in use, I dry them on old plastic lids. They dry quickly. They last longer and smell better than my old sponges. These sponges have made my life easier.
