Review on Ultimate Protection and Performance: Venum Elite Boxing Gloves by Ham Channell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I checked all the major brands and settled on this one.

So I spent a lot of time (a few days and a few hours) choosing between gloves. I haven't bought or tried any other gloves, I just read countless reviews on Revain and YouTube to see which one is better. I will focus more on the brand than the styles within the brand. 1) Hayabusa - people seem to really like them even though they are probably the most expensive. They feel nice and are of high quality, but customers say they are a lot heavier than they look. Also, they lack variety compared to other brands. 2) Fairtex - this was my second choice after Venums. What bothered me the most was that the pick-up strap felt very large and you could slide your hand in and out of the glove without buckling it. I have very small hands and wrists so I don't think that would be good for me. They also had probably the coolest styles and were cheaper than Hayabusa. 3) Gel Bag Glove - This was the judged glove of the year 2015. I don't know by whom. The gloves were a delight, but they had two major problems. They handled over 20 ounces each and when I looked for lighter gloves to handle the bag it was too bulky and not fun enough. They cost $99 but I declined because I was overweight. 4) RDX is the brand I would buy if I was on a budget. People were very happy with the value for money and they have a lot of reviews. 5) Twins - I didn't take a good look at them because they just look ugly. I am sorry. :) 6) venum - ok i have the elite which is the same price as all the other gloves i told you about. I am in love. This. Gloves. First, they have a really sick design. But the glove also looks good in the photo. Just compare the stitching and the quality of the leather. I put these gloves on with my bandages and had a blast with the bag. My hands don't hurt and the 12 ounce gloves give me enough speed for a killer workout and enough cushioning to punch as hard as I want. The handrail and palm holes are a nice feature to help keep you dry. Anyway, I hope this really helps you make a decision and you won't spend hours making a decision like I did.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Good, but not great
