Not worth the money

I have to admit that I bought them for the looks. I liked the white on white. I did a little research and thought these were decent gloves. When they arrived I noticed how thin they were. There was little to no wrist support and no padding at the top of the glove. I sent them back and got my money back. For the same price you get a decent pair of gloves with better wrist support and padding. I've been boxing for 3 years and I wouldn't recommend them even to a beginner.

Happy to report they hold up well

I waited to write this review as I wanted to see how well these gloves would hold up over time. I am happy to say that they have held up well. I was particularly concerned if they would smell over time and the answer is NO! (I dried them very carefully after use and sprayed the inside with tea tree oil.) The gloves have great padding for protection and the wrist straps are very supportive. I was hesitant to spend that kind of money on a pair of gloves but I'm glad I did!

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Good but some issues

I have been looking for gloves for a long time and after extensive research and reading reviews I decided these gloves are just what you need! They look great, initially very supportive and well cushioned. But after 5 weeks of kickboxing 3-5 times a week the right glove seems to collapse when I punch. It also causes wrist rotation and obvious joint pain. I thought it was worth paying more for a higher quality glove but that's not what I got. Last night in class it was so bad I switched to the…

Upgrade to 1 year for combat gloves

So after a year of use these gloves showed no signs of wear. Incredibly, the color is still as bright and firm as the day I received it a year ago. I change other gloves twice a day and there are times when they are not used for a maximum of 2 weeks. One thing that always surprises me when I come back to these gloves is how incredible they seem to be made to order despite being mass produced. They just fit incredibly well. The construction is also excellent; they don't look cheap. Now I have a…

much better than Contender or Challenger

Venum has several lines of boxing gloves from Contender to Giant. They all look good, but vary greatly in comfort, padding, and cooling. Disclaimer: I train Muay Thai 2-3 times a week, mostly pad work/sparring. I use other (much lighter) pocket gloves. I would generally advise staying away from Contender Venum Contender Boxing Gloves Gray 16 oz. Her padding was painfully (pun intended) inadequate. The heat had nowhere to go either, so I couldn't afford to live with them in my already injured…

Pros
  • Sample for a year
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

I checked all the major brands and settled on this one.

So I spent a lot of time (a few days and a few hours) choosing between gloves. I haven't bought or tried any other gloves, I just read countless reviews on Revain and YouTube to see which one is better. I will focus more on the brand than the styles within the brand. 1) Hayabusa - people seem to really like them even though they are probably the most expensive. They feel nice and are of high quality, but customers say they are a lot heavier than they look. Also, they lack variety compared to…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Good, but not great
