We purchased this disc to replace an old HP Media Center PC that came with a working Lightscribe drive , model HP840. under XP Home. Recently the drive started to fail and was sometimes shown (in Device Manager) as not writable. We spent time trying to find various software fixes found on online forums and finally gave up. We ordered this CD on a Sunday afternoon with regular shipping. To our pleasant surprise, it arrived the following Tuesday (in the Chicago area). All that was required for installation was removing the front and side panels of the computer case, disconnecting the old drive, connecting the new drive to Cable Select, reinstalling the new drive, and booting the Computers: we don't need to update anything other than first using Device Manager to uninstall and then reinstall the driver. No firmware, nothing. Of course, since the machine is XP, we need to use another DVD burning software, but that hasn't changed since the old drive worked. The LightScribe feature also works. A++ experience from LG and Revain. PS: Bought a replacement IDE cable but didn't need it (the old one looked kinked).
