Exactly what you were hoping for. Stainless steel and everything related to it (including all fingerprints). They can take a beating in transit, but the plastic coating on the front of the panels absorbs all of those dents and protects the metal underneath. Once you remove this coating, the panels remain clean. I would like to warn you that if you already have the slabs in place, it is very important to note the size of the slabs. I bought 5 of these to replace the original pools in my house in the mid 70's and they are 1/2 inch smaller than the originals in each direction. With a panel, the hole in the wall is slightly larger than with a new panel. , needs some patching and repainting but worth it, these plates are beautiful.
