The bracket design attached didn't have enough room to work with our (old) ceiling box so I had to buy a larger and more flexible crossbar for another $5 or so - then it kinda worked. It was a nightmare getting two screws that line up with two small balls to stay in place, but it's done. REALLY a hoop, I don't stand under it during an earthquake lol. If you want to play around with all of this, be sure to get two smaller bulbs while you're at it - not sure if they'll have room for a standard bulb. If you love puzzles, you will love this lamp.
