Review on Geyser coffee maker Bialetti Moka Express 1164 (4 portions), silver by Gabriela Chodun (Gab ᠌

The purchase brought only positive emotions.

-There are some nuances, but in general it is not difficult to get used to it, and if you follow all the rules, a cup of strong rich coffee awaits you. - By the way, it is highly recommended to use coffee freshly roasted, ground on a burr coffee grinder, medium grinding, ala granulated sugar. Fine grinding, as for Turks, is prohibited, otherwise the water will not pass through the coffee tablet and, at best, you will spoil the coffee - the pressure will go through the emergency valve on the side of the boiler. At worst, the risk of an explosion. Bialetti makes durable coffee makers, of course, the risk is small, but cheap Chinese ones are just on the way. There are enough videos on the Internet. So don't risk it. -Coffee, be sure to fill in the full volume of the lower grid. Otherwise it will be watery. It is better not to ram, again, the risk of creating excessive pressure. By weight of coffee somewhere around 20-22 grams. If you have a lot, see a smaller volume. Or steel Venus by 4, where the basket is smaller, somewhere around 16-18 grams for the same volume of water. But the coffee won't be as hot (I have both this one and Venus, so I know what I'm talking about). - Suitable for use on gas, conventional electric stove, glass ceramics. Induction is not. For induction, see either all-steel options or combined, where the bottom is steel, the top is aluminum. -4 portions are Italian portions. The actual volume of the boiler - the lower part, 200 ml. before risks, coffee at the exit of 150-180 ml.

Pros
  • -Classic geyser coffee maker Bialetti non-standard size (3 and 6 servings are more common). - Officially recognized as a design masterpiece, one of the symbols of modern Italy. -If you want to brew the "same" coffee that Italians have been brewing at home for 80 years, then you need just such a thing. The material is aluminum, the Italians prefer it, not steel. Type in aluminum is a completely DIFFERENT taste :) -Coffee brews quickly, about 5 minutes. Coffee is strong enough (but not espresso, of course), rich. Since the thermal conductivity of aluminum is high, the coffee is hot. In steel, it is rather warm along the upper border. -Thing solid, massive. -Made really in Italy, other Bialetti already in different ways, from Romania to China.
Cons
  • - Do not wash in the dishwasher categorically and in general with any detergents. Only with warm water and if you really need it - with a soft sponge without anything. I personally just rinse every time right after use. This applies to all aluminum coffee makers. -The handle is not the most convenient shape, but what to do - a classic) -You can’t press on the handle when twisting, you can break it. And you need to tighten it hard, otherwise there will be leaks. -It is inconvenient to get the filter strainer and the sealing ring, and they must be removed and washed in the right way every time so that nothing turns sour (hint - you can get it with a regular paper clip, the rounded part so as not to damage the gum). -Do not leave dirty for a long time, otherwise it will turn sour and the taste of coffee will be spoiled. Rule: made coffee - cooled itself or cooled with cold water, disassembled, washed, dried. Necessarily! It is impossible to collect wet, again it will turn sour.
