Review on DRESSTELLS Vintage Tea Dress With Cape, 1950S Cocktail Party Dress For Women by Lori Gallegos

Go up a size on this pretty vintage dress.

This dress really has a vintage look to it & it’s very cute. I usually order 2X in everything I get on Walmart that’s made in China because they seem to run a little smaller than my American-sized 1X or 18W. And the 2X usually fits well, maybe just a tiny bit looser, but not enough to go with the 1X in those brands.I’ve had trouble every time when I order a dress or a top under the same circumstances so this time, I ordered this dress in 3X. It fits perfectly—just like in the picture. It says in the description that it's equal to size 20. I think ordering a size up is the way to go with this dress. The dress has a hidden side zipper & it has a little bit of stretch to it for a more tapered fit. I’m 5’9” & the length hits me just below the knee. The waist seam hits about two inches above my natural waist but doesn’t look bad. My daughter didn’t notice until I pointed it out & asked her about it. She didn’t think it looked bad & said the dress was flattering. It does ride up at the waist when I’m sitting. The lace at the shoulders isn’t lined & my bra straps show somewhat. The V-neck is finished with the same fabric as the dress. The ruffle circle for the cape is a nice touch. The side label at the bottom of the dress reads that the shell is 94% nylon & 6% elastane & that the lining is 100% polyester. This dress isn’t lined so I think they mean the lace. It’s supposed to be hand-washed with no bleach, or it can be dry-cleaned. It can be steam ironed. I wouldn’t put it in the dryer & would make sure the water I washed it in was cold. Heat will definitely wreck it.The downside on this dress is the color. Usually, my computer is exact on the color, so I expected this to be pinker. It’s a dusty rose & while it’s still pretty, I wanted more of a true pink. The description says "blush”, so it isn’t really wrong, I was going by what it looked like in the picture. The identifying brand label is sewed on the inside at the back of the dress, below where the ruffle hangs. It’s a black label & stitched on with black thread on the top & blush thread on the underside. The black stitching does show on the outside of the dress but isn’t noticeable when wearing it because the cape covers it. Those are the only negatives on this dress & doesn’t really amount to anything that would stop me from buying it.I think the quality matches the price. It’s a pretty dress that can be worn for many occasions. I got it for a Valentine’s evening out & for a charitable tea party in June. I love vintage so this dress is right up my alley.
