Review on Recessed Lighting Junction Downlight Certified Lighting & Ceiling Fans by Nathan Barraclough

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Simple cheap easy installation of concealed lighting.

It was a great purchase. We built the house about a year ago and wanted to replace some of our dome lights with recessed lights. The cost of installing the cans and reworking the drywall was significant. So we decided to try these babies. Everything is fine, the hardest part of the installation is cutting a hole in the ceiling drywall. After that everything goes smoothly with the supplied clamps, you just have to insert the wires into the clamp and you're done. There is nothing difficult in it. They are IC certified (insulation contact). So when you plug in the box, you place it on the ceiling and then the fixture itself has two spring clips that hold the light in place. The light is pretty flat, so even though I had rays partially in the circle where I installed it, it still matched the ceiling. I can't judge the durability yet. They are LED and in my experience LED bulbs never last as long as they should so we'll see.

Pros
  • Performance and security
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
