Review on 🐠 Odyssea Clean 100 Internal Surface Skimmer Aquarium Filter 450L for Plant Tanks by Luciano Filpo

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Worked great for my 60 gallon freshwater tank but I would look elsewhere if you have smaller fish!

Was a little tricky to assemble as the bracket is not compatible with the rim of my 60 gallon tank but I knew I had to do something about the film that had accumulated on the water surface. I used some transparent suction cups to attach it to the aquarium wall. It took about 3 days and flushing the included foam agent several times and now the surface is nice and clean, no more slime build up. I couldn't be happier, the price is right and my aquarium water is much cleaner. It's a bit noisy, but no worse than my air pump and canister filter. From now on I will always have one of these in each of my aquariums! UPDATE 6 MONTHS: As mentioned, I installed this in my 60 gallon freshwater tank about 6 months ago. Problems I had: - The included foam wore out/disintegrated after about 3 months. After that I cut out replacements from other foam filters I had. None of them survived long in the speeder before falling apart. I often unplugged it to save water for feeding. After plugging it back in, it sometimes took several hours for the stream to start running again. There are a lot of small fish in my community tank, the filter sucked in smaller fish 3 times and either they died there when I didn't catch them in time (once) or they were stressed and died within the next 4-5 hours (twice). After the third "vacuum" I removed the filter and threw it away. For this I deducted a star from my previous 5-star rating. However, I still think this is a good cheap surface skimmer if you need to quickly remove surface scum. However, I would not use it if there are small freshwater fish (neon sized) in the aquarium.
