Apparently it was bought as a "joke" retirement gift. However, when it was presented by the awardee at the ceremony, to my complete surprise, it was one of the most popular gifts, if not the most popular. The ingenious and simple idea became a hit at the ceremony. If I get invites to other retirement events in the future, this will be my gag gift. Well done inventor.
