Cool idea for a product but the one I have is rubbish unless you mind a meat thermometer that jumps from 60 degrees to 299 degrees and back in a matter of seconds and works every time there is a falsely high value i.e. every few minutes. I bought this product for my father who has used it twice. We've tried all the tricks to get it working, reset the transmitter and receiver, put in new batteries, moved the meat probe, etc. Nothing worked. It has been over 90 days since I ordered this product so I called Brookstone Limited Warranty. Service by the number 800 indicated in the instructions. A very nice but obviously upset girl tried to find my order in the system for 25 minutes but to no avail. I asked her if she could just add me to the system as it seemed I had a Brookstone product and a receipt from Revain. She said no, you can't. After speaking to her manager I was told that I would need to contact Revain for assistance. Revain said I need to contact the seller, TLC Stores. I've emailed TLC stores, we'll see what they say. At the time of this writing, I spent $65.98 on a product that didn't work and spent over an hour seeking warranty service. At this point I would say AVOID BRUXTON PRODUCTS! My experience, although limited, was not positive. When the situation is resolved I will update this post and let everyone know of the results of my quest to provide even minimally adequate customer service. UPDATE 27-Jan-11 Brookstone does not guarantee this item as I purchased it from TLC (Amazon seller). Brookstone warrants its products only to the "original" purchaser. Brookston told me that by purchasing this item from TLC, you "actually bought this item at a garage sale from the original purchaser, so the warranty is void." I bought this item because I thought it was "new." ", with guarantee. TLC Store has a 30 day guarantee, at least that's what I was told. This effect took a one-year manufacturer's warranty and turned it into a 30-day warranty from a girl selling stuff from her garage. I have sent repeated emails but only received two replies, neither of which remotely solved the problem. Therefore, this element is garbage. The TLC store has not done anything to fix this issue. 2 LESSONS 1. THIS BROOKSTONE PRODUCT IS UNINTERRUPTED AND YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO RESERVE YOUR PRODUCTS. 2. ANYONE CAN OPEN AN AMAZON STORE. BUYERS BEWARE, YOU MAY BUY ITEMS FROM SOMEONE GARAGE JUST TRYING TO MAKE MONEY AND DONT CARE WHETHER THEY GO IN THE PROCESS.
