I do not recommend the seller

A clip broke off and the product has a sticky substance. I paid for a new one but am wondering if it was returned. The product worked. It wasn't packaged well for shipping.

Pros
  • I like everything so far
Cons
  • There is nothing here

I bought several of these last year.

I bought several of these last year and each one broke within the first 90 days. That was only enough for 4 applications. The temperature shows either zero or 199 degrees. Tried new batteries, nothing helped.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

I was unable to return this product for a refund from them.

The product doesn't work so I want to return it but I haven't received a response from anyone. I don't know what to do next to return and get my money back. I sent them the order number and everything they asked for.

Pros
  • 1 year trial version
Cons
  • Update available

GARBAGE! Brookstone does not help with warranty issues.

Cool idea for a product but the one I have is rubbish unless you mind a meat thermometer that jumps from 60 degrees to 299 degrees and back in a matter of seconds and works every time there is a falsely high value i.e. every few minutes. I bought this product for my father who has used it twice. We've tried all the tricks to get it working, reset the transmitter and receiver, put in new batteries, moved the meat probe, etc. Nothing worked. It has been over 90 days since I ordered this product…

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine

Worked well but short lived

I used this for about a year. I grill a lot. This product worked VERY WELL. Actually quite amazing! It will then shut down and no longer connect to the probe or send a signal to the hand control box. Of course; It happened when I was trying to cook something. The product failed after a short time and that is disappointing!

Pros
  • Meat

The best. Improved in Kitchenware & Gadgets

I had one of these when they first came out. I bought it at the gift shop at the airport. It has served me for many years, probably 5 or 6. I bent and the probe almost broke. So I had to replace it. Thought I'd try a few cheaper versions first because I figured the technology has certainly evolved. I must have tried 3 or 4 different ones before I finally gave up and went back to Brookstone. What I noticed about this new version is that it connects to the transmitter faster and more reliably…

Seen it, liked it, bought it, still love it

Went to a friend's barbecue and had one that he used for ribeye steaks. He fastened it to his belt and a pleasant voice told him the meat was almost ready. We went for the BBQ and after a few minutes we were told again that the meat was ready. These steaks were perfectly med-rare. When I got home I went straight to the computer, checked and ordered. My first use was grilled chicken. I had to insert a probe to keep the wire from wrapping around the chicken every time I wanted to check it, but…

Pros
  • Thermometers and timers
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Poor durability Kitchen utensils and gadgets

I had several of these and gave some away. I LOVE how well they work when brand new so when mine broke I bought new ones assuming I just got a lemon. THEY ARE ALL LEMONS. My observation with multiple units is that the average lifespan is 3 to 6 uses. Sometimes a new probe ($20 each) fixes the problem, sometimes nothing helps (including pressing the reset button). Look at reviews of other products on different websites; they all complain about how quickly the device fails. You may also notice…

Pros
  • Household and kitchen
Cons
  • Some defects
