UPDATED REVIEW AT THE END: I'll try not to make this too much "They don't make them like they used to to review. 5 liter cooker holds everything about 4 liters. The weight of the CROCK in the 5 liter model is about half the weight of the jug in my original 3 liter Rival multi cooker from the 70's. The newer models are shorter, the bowl is larger in diameter, the walls are thinner, they weigh less. The glass lid is a joke. The old lids were heavy molded glass. The thickness of a new cover corresponds approximately to the thickness of a simple window pane. The hole in the top with a screw and plastic washer is nonsense just waiting to break due to the stress of heat/handling etc. The combination of the pot's weight, thin lid and large diameter makes the heat less efficient than older models. Similar to the LOW setting on my retro pots. All settings are very hot. The outer shell of the heating part of the assembly in the old models was steel. On the newer models, it's literally tin foil. You can press the aluminum shell with your finger and deform it permanently. I have no idea what kind of marketing nonsense they are offering when they call it "smudge proof". This would hardly be a selling point if it were possible. Does anyone really mourn the stains on their slow cooker? Mine is definitely "dirty" for the first few minutes. The power cord is ridiculously short. There is no indicator light. The included "Ursa Minor" appears to be useless. Same incredibly thin cheap build quality, no power button, no indicator light, stupid plastic cover. I gave this crockpot three stars simply because I "left" it as the "least terrible" option. I cook in mine every day. I really can't imagine this device lasting more than 30-60 days before suffering at least one broken lid unless the main unit falls apart. I'm really NOT impressed with this product. I would pay multiple times more for a multi cooker with better build quality. But I've seen NO example of a better version, regardless of price or brand. They are all very poorly made. UPDATE 5 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE: I estimate/suspect this multi cooker can be used for 30-60 days. I have 37 days. Household use, about a day later, cook for two. Five weeks after purchase he began to lose parts of the interior of the ceramic/clay portion of the kiln. Small ceramic balls broke off and fell into the food. Glass beads in my chili con carne. mmm "Um delicious food!"
