I am in my 3rd year now, no leaks, no rust on the lines. I rerouted my lines. I used a snap tool. Bend everything by hand. I had to tighten the nuts 5 times in 3 days to allow the new flares to "settle in" but I've heard that's to be expected: don't over-tighten! Just check for leaks every few days until they settle down. Same idea as installing a new cylinder head gasket.
