I bought one of these for my mom for Mother's Day and I needed a locket that could hold a lot. I bought 5mm birthstone hearts to put in and along with my parents, their children and their spouses, grandchildren and their spouses and great grandchildren, I needed a locket that could hold 25 birthstones. This accommodates them all and leaves room for more great-grandchildren to be added. We live in the woods and both spend a lot of time outside working in the garden, yard or woods so I specifically wanted a screw top locket as I was concerned the ones that close with a magnet might get stuck and open too much ... light. This is much less likely to happen with a screw cap if you close it tight enough, although you can check it from time to time to make sure it hasn't become loose. Mom wore them every day until one day at the store when she found they had come open and the face plate and all the stones were gone. She was devastated. We managed to find the faceplate and all 25 stones, but now she's afraid to wear them until she's sure it won't happen again. I may not have closed it tight enough - I have arthritis in my hands so it can be difficult to close something as small as tight as needed - so I don't consider this a design flaw.
