Bought this bulb and tried it out on November 16th while watching football for 3 hours. I installed the bulb correctly, which I have done several times. The lightbulb worked fine. It was bright and clear enough, so I thought it was ok. The next night I turned on my projector and five minutes later the projector stopped working and I could detect a burning smell. The lamp buckled and the plastic between the projector's power connector and the lamp connector melted. Now I have a projector with no incandescent plug and most likely a burned panel. Don't judge the panel just yet. So why should I buy a non-original lamp? Cheaper. Sometimes cheaper is good, sometimes not. Yes, I installed it correctly, with care, like a projector that costs 2K. By the way, this is an Epson 8700 projector, so this is my first test and my motivation is obvious. I'm always looking at reviews for things I might buy, so out of anger, frustration and making purchasing decisions based on other people's reviews I felt compelled to share this. I am not going to tell you not to buy a non-original lamp. I bought about four. I will say that the cost will be very high if something goes wrong, so at least consider another lightbulb. I commented to the seller with a very brief explanation of what happened to their lightbulb. Heed all the reviews for this product, but understand the consequences of a poorly made lightbulb and your projector. My beamer time may be over.
