I was surprised by the quality for the price.

Excellent lens. A lovely photo, despite its diminutive size. Easy on the wallet. It is comfortable to wear as a regular. But! We need to be aware that this is a fix: it is only worthwhile to take it if you want to explore artistically at tiny apertures and are totally certain that this focal length is appropriate. Taking it otherwise is not recommended. With its positives being: - Sharpness, in comparison to whale 18-55 at the same apertures, the details are worked out considerably better, the microcontrast is fairly good (because to the higher resolution), and the sharpness at the edges of the picture at small apertures nearly does not diminish. - Aperture: the capacity to shoot in low-light environments and indoors without the need for a flash (for ISO 200 and adequate shutter speeds, dim light from the window is sufficient). This also includes the plethora of opportunities for creative expression that a shallow depth of field affords. - Nice bokeh. Although everyone has different preferences, I think the pattern on the background looks nice. When using a tiny aperture, portraiture and macro photography of plants work very well. - A metal mount, which ensures reliability. - When you change the focus, the lenses move inside the lens, so nothing can climb out, and as a result, there is less dust. You are able to put a polarizer in front of the lens because it does not rotate. - The price, which came out to be 6700 dollars after delivery from a foreign internet store, is absolutely outrageous. Below are some downsides: Despite this, not all of the pieces are a perfect match. However, this is a problem with every Nikon lens that is now on the market (even the ones that function properly at first; after about six months of use, they become a little loose). It will serve you well for a very long time if you merely use caution when using it. - A little barrel. Conditional deficiency. To begin, it is something that is only noticeable in certain images, and secondly, it is something that can be simply fixed in the appropriate editing software. - Some chromatic aberration in the image. Also conditional. There are instances in which they contribute an additional artistic effect. They are eliminated mechanically in the vast majority of Nikon's more recent versions. Additionally eliminated in image editors.
