I am a Comcast customer. The wired/wireless router combo they gave me is not at all reliable in terms of WiFi reliability. I'm using an older Linksys N E-series router and a Netgear range extender for my wireless needs. It just couldn't handle top speeds anymore on a good day of 40-50Mbps and still limited coverage in my three story house. As I learned what I wanted, I settled on a mesh system where I didn't have to switch back and forth between networks as I walked up and down the stairs. God I'm glad I chose this one! The construction was not very difficult. The directions got me going. I kind of got kicked out. Not being a technical expert, I'll offer what I can. Connect the first router to the modem with the supplied cable and first update the firmware. Second, connect the second router to the first with a different network cable and update its firmware. After that it was easy to understand. I have a three story house with these routers on the 1st and 2nd floors. I have normal download speeds on all three floors with no dips of 150-220 Mbps! No network switching depending on what floor you are on or whatever. It's simple, fast, yet reliable (about 45 days of use). Thank you ASUS!
