Review on Samsung T5 Portable SSD MU PA500B by Amit Amit ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Full compliance with the manufacturers assurances, high quality.

In reference to the 500GB version. Purchased for the purpose of storing still images and video (as a shared storage for all devices). Great speed in both writing and reading. On my laptop, which is eight years old, the USB3.0 bus provides a speed of approximately 300 megabytes per second (from SSD to SSD), and it did not overclock past 350. The temperature rises to 55 degrees as tens of gigabytes are copied, then it drops back down to normal very fast. At the same time, the temperature of the body is only just above freezing. It also functions when connected via a standard USB-USBtypeC cable (I used the charging cable that came with my Xiaomi Mi A1; the speed remains constant at 42 MB/s). This is in the event that you did not remember to bring the cable. A smartphone that does not comprehend exFAT was the source of the tar that was incorporated into the standard firmware (Xiaomi Mi A1). As a result of this, the disk had to be formatted in FAT32, despite the fact that formatting a disk on a laptop running Windows 10 only allows you to do so in NTFS or exFAT. According to the Samsung Magician tool, there is no requirement to update the firmware for the T5 at this time. However, Samsung Portable made an error that first affected itself and then affected the FW SSD. It is unfortunate that the disk speed cannot be evaluated using the Magician program.

Pros
  • Excellent write speed (about 300MB/s in both directions). Plus other benefits that come with SSD
