I bought these camping skewers and they are very good. The metal seems good and so far I haven't had any warping or rusting issues. Tip for camping use. Recently I've seen some items on the market that can be skewered and roasted over a fire. They look nice, but I've been making something like this since I was little (a long time ago). I use these flat skewers because the round ones allow the meat or veggies to rotate instead of pointing the new edge at the fire. We used to use flattened sticks for this, but. You take a couple of long sticks and sharpen the ends to make them easier to stick into the ground. The sticks should be about the length of your forearm, but experiment and see what length works best for YOU. Saw off and make a cut in the tip of each chopstick to insert the skewer. This will keep the edge of the skewer up when turning. If you're grilling something larger (like chicken), place two skewers in rings on opposite sides, making the cut deep enough to hold up the edges of both skewers when you flip them this way. I know I didn't explain it very well, but maybe it will give you some ideas for the EXPERIMENT. After all, camping should be fun.
