Review on Upgrade Your Fitbit Blaze With Bayite Replacement Steel Frame - Pack Of 3 In Black, Silver And Rose Gold by Sierra Stewart

Look nice, but pins won't seat on the Black one.

When I found these frames for my Blaze, I was very excited about being able to change the look of it. Super excited. I always like to customize things. Unfortunately, these are going back. The first, less serious reason is the buttons. When I put my Blaze into the frame and push the buttons, it feels off. The buttons travel quite a bit before they even make contact with the buttons on my fitbit. Then I have to push them even further before they click. In looking at this frame side by side with the original one from fitbit, the little nibs that connect with the buttons on the fitbit are shorter/don't stick out as far on the replacement one from Bayite. It would make me nuts to have to push the buttons WAY in to get a response. The second, more serious problem is with the connection to the band. The holes don't seem to be in the right place to allow the quick release pin in the band to fully seat/connect. The pin doesn't click in and stay connected. This true for all 3 frames on at least one side. I found this to be the case using both the original band from fitibit and a replacement band that I purchased as well. So, variability in the bands/pins are likely not the cause. Perhaps I got a bad batch, but these are pretty much useless to me if I can't connect a band to them.On the plus side, these frames look very nice and seem to have a quality finish. I dropped one on the floor as I was fumbling around trying to put the band on. It didn't dent or ding or scratch or chip. If you're lucky enough to get a set that your band can connect to and don't mind the feel of the buttons, these could be good replacement frames.UPDATE: The seller graciously sent me a replacement set of frames. The new ones have the same problems. The buttons are sloppy and I can't connect my band to the black one. To be clear, it seems that the band problem is specific to the black frame only in this new set, as I was able to connect my band to the rose gold and silver replacement frames. If I take the pin out of the band and put it in place, it connects securely. But in the band it won't. like the area that the excess band slips into isn't quite deep enough, rather than the holes being in the wrong place. Of course, the black one is the one I intended to use most. So. still going back, but the seller did attempt to make it right.

Pros
  • Perfect
Cons
  • The frames might cause discomfort on the wrist
