I bought a wave runner and trailer with this type of mount. So impressed that I wanted the same style on other items as my canoes. During the drive to BWCA (450 miles) they kept getting lost. After the trip, the design was examined closely. Unlike the ones in my Waverunner trailer, they're long. So when they automatically retract, the nylon webbing isn't as taut. It gets tight when cranked, but the inside is still not tight enough so it loosens up with time and bouncing around. Finally after 5 times it got tight enough and they stayed that way. Other than that, it's one of the most amazing ties I've ever used. No extra strap to tie.
