The nib itself looked good and was well made. The problem is that the description says it's compatible with Kenmore 795.71033.010, but it's not. The correct spring for 795.71033.010 is shown below: LG Electronics MHY62044106 fridge spring.

Did the job and seems to be working well. I was concerned about the part number but it ended up fitting my fridge/freezer perfectly. Make sure to do your homework when ordering them, they have different sizes and clockwise and counterclockwise opening springs. I took the shortcut and didn't even actually take anything off, just used needle nose pliers to tighten it.

Removing the luggage rack (damper) from the door broke the heating cables inside the luggage rack leaving the connector behind still attached to the front door (possibly from the previous owner). But this spring, Kenmore Elite 795.71033.010 really came into its own. If it doesn't fit one way, flip it and try another way. This worked for me. Mullion doesn't have a heater now, but mechanically it works fine.

For those expecting an accurate spring for the Kenmore Elite replacement #795.71033.010, this spring is too big and doesn't work properly as other reviewers have said. You have to order it from the actual LG manufacturer to get the exact same size. This LG link solved our problem and I will give it five stars. As the name suggests fits Kenmore Elite fridge 795.71063.010. The odd angled side of the spring goes to the end of the damper/post rod, and the 90° side of the spring goes to the side of the fridge door. Hope this helps someone. This item is NOT a suitable replacement part for the Kenmore fridge stand model 795.71063.011, even though it is advertised as such. It has 5 turns instead of 6 and is significantly larger in diameter than the original. Although it can be placed in the correct position, due to its diameter it does not fit into the recess in the post, preventing it from closing correctly.
