In one of them it's a straight downward thrust that should pierce the apple skin along each surface; such super sharp rules and this one makes it great. You only apply very moderate force and you instantly have 12 pre-cut slices and the core can be thrown away. I just threw some water over it and it dissolved instantly. You want to wash it immediately. Dry cured material requires a special brush to keep your fingers off the sharp surface. Works great, cleans great with a simple rinse. No wastage, which is normal when trying to core an apple, not to mention wasted time. Get one.
