I painted the inside of the bowl copper and applied heat resistant glass so they diffuse the light a little better. The interior is matte black and would otherwise really kill the amount of light they put out. This is my main light in the kitchen so it was important that they give off enough light. The lights themselves are great for a simple look and even better for the price. With a little paint they look like the much more expensive lamps you can buy. I'm very happy with my purchase, just need to move the overhead wires a few feet to make the lights more central on my island, but this is another project of the day.
