In my opinion, the tip caps are quite good. I'm a casual user, not a student or artist, so this fits the bill for me. I don't know how they will perform with prolonged use but for me they protect my pencil. I did notice that I had to press a little harder when using it, but nothing crazy. I didn't notice any lag during recording either. For the price and the ease of use I give them this is a good buy.
