The red, white and blue plaid is bright, the material is comfortable and dense, and the stitching is excellent - you can use both sides, both plaid. It doesn't smell either, which is important to me. I like that they are folded and don't crumple at all when unfolded. Haven't washed it yet so can't comment on how it washes or irons - I assume it needs to be ironed as it's 100% cotton but I'm hoping for the best. I wish this company made matching 18x18 pillowcases, but I bought matching doilies and will hopefully make my own. I use these runners on my patio table and love the matching outdoor sofa cushions.
