The idea of wrapping stainless steel packaging in plastic - presumably out of respect for ecology and healing - is ironic to say the least, and most importantly dishonest. The liquid drink flows well through the straw (not so much with thicker drinks like smoothies). I sterilized them straight out of the box in very hot water before using them and I'm still a bit suspicious of the ingredients used to dye the straws these colors. Be careful about grasping straws with your teeth, especially if you have expensive dental work (veneers, crowns, implants, etc.), but also for your own natural teeth. After all, straws are STEEL! The price is advantageous only if the expensive dental work does not bring any result. Brush cleaners fit 'regular' straws snugly, but work better with larger straws. It is in order. I'm not sure if they help the environment at all, which was the reason for my purchase.
