The packaging was undamaged with no signs of previous handling. However, there is no suitable nut for the screws anywhere in the packaging. Very disappointing. I was in a hurry to install it for my daughter before she went to college. These missing nuts distracted me for a few days. Terrible quality control. Update - got a replacement within a week. Unfortunately, I have already rushed to buy regular nuts to complete the installation. This turned out to be a mistake as the original nuts are lock nuts and not regular nuts which my daughter lost a few days later. The construction seems to be quite strong and light. On this shelf I put a milk crate to transport heavy objects. The stand does not bend even when fully extended. I had trouble tightening the bottom brackets and the rubber grommets slip out easily. Design-wise, I would prefer stanchions that bolt directly into the wheel axle. However, this design offers a lot of flexibility to fit all types/sizes of bikes.
