Much better than the Realtek ALC892 sound chip built into my motherboard.

I have Huananzhi X99-8M motherboard with Realtek ALC892 audio chip. For some reason it didn't work with my Panasonic RP-HT21 headphones, most likely due to their low impedance (16 ohms). Connecting higher impedance speakers improved the situation, but I wanted to improve the sound quality without buying new headphones. The bass wasn't very punchy and the volume was low. I didn't have high hopes for this USB adapter since it only cost $10, but I was surprised that it could power my headphones almost as well as my iMac. Bass and overall volume are much louder, and the sound is much more "dynamic". To show how much louder it is, I listened to music at about 85 (out of 100 on the Windows volume meter), but with the adapter the music is loud enough at 30. Overall I would say this adapter is very good for the price and I would definitely buy it again. I'll update this review if it suddenly breaks, but I hope it doesn't happen any time soon.
