Review on 2-Panel Thermal Insulated Blackout Curtain Liner Set - 50X58In, Off White Panel + Rings Included by Eric Dubreuil

I have a 96” window so I ordered 2 sets of these blackout panels. When I opened the package I noticed a few spots that were dirty. I figured no one would see them and moved on. The material is similar to a shower curtain - stiff and plasticky. I layed them out on the floor to try and get the deep wrinkles out from the packaging. No such luck - I tried steam since these can not be ironed. Not much help. Decided to go ahead and hang them but I have serious doubts the wrinkles will fall out. The rings are tough to open at first. Many reviews here stated they were unable to get the rings open. You have to pull it away from itself to open (side to side) the opposite of pushing it together to lock. These liners are heavy - 4 pounds each so make sure your curtain rod can hold the load. When I finally got them hung I noticed a few things. First they hang a good 2 inches from the top of your curtains so make sure you hang your curtains a bit higher to compensate for the gap. Secondly, I didn’t like seeing the liner stick out on the sides from the curtains. So I used Hollywood tape and taped the liner from the top down to the curtain panel on each side of each panel. Lastly, the deep wrinkles in the liners makes it difficult to hang/fall the same way as my curtains do so my curtains were bulging in the wrong places and looked strange. After over an hour of trying to put "creases” were they should be I decided to use more Hollywood tape. I can’t tell you if these are great blackout liners because I have a small half moon window above my 96” window and I can only hang my curtains an inch below the beginning of that window due to the sloping of my ceiling so light enters my room whether I like it or not. I wanted blackout to help cut down the amount of light that comes in my room and these do that. But they don’t blackout all the sun even though I have a blind behind them. My recommendation would be to look for a liner that can be irone if there is one on the market or to use a double rod so that these liners don’t interfere with the proper look of the curtains when hung.
