Be careful which drive you buy for this case
Be careful when buying a hard drive for this case. I bought a 4TB HGST drive with a SATA III (6Gb/s) interface. After installing this drive I could not see the enclosure via USB3 on Windows 10 or via Firewire800 on OSX. The drive started but did not connect. I replaced the drive with a 2.5TB WD drive that has an older SATA 1 (3Gb/s) interface. The WD drive worked fine. Therefore, make sure not to use a SATA III (6 Gb/s) drive in this case. it can not work. After trying an HGST SATA III drive in this OWC case, I tried the same drive in an Orico 3588US3 USB3 case. In the Orico case it worked great.
