Good attachment in lighting and ceiling fans
Installed, nice and bright. The glass dome is held in place by one of the spring-loaded latches; You pull it out to install/remove the dome. As long as the spring-loaded clip holds, you're good to go. The crossbar/mounting bar should be 1/2" or 1" longer at each end. I installed over a standard cutout box and the mounting bar was too short to fit through the cutout hole. I improvised by putting a piece of strapping/galvanized steel across one side of the cutout and sliding a crossbar over it.
