Unbelievable! If I hadn't seen and done this, I would have never believed it was possible to potty a rat or other rodent. I raised a hairless baby rat that I found in my garage. He is a healthy young man with a cell of a nation of creatures. They are above the top cells. I didn't like that it was mainly spoiled with urine and its smell no matter how faint if you brush every day. Put that in and some rodent litter, and voila! Ben (the rat) went straight to him and examined him. He reached through the grate to see what junk was there. Then he peed in a back corner and has been urinating ever since! Almost always throws in it. You won't be perfect in it but almost .wow what a difference in looks and smell. no smell Change it once a week. I buy trash cans for $1.99 a pound. Each is good for two refills. Just try amazement. The rats keep showing me real cleverness!
